Sarah Elizabeth Smith, age 102, passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2009 at Greeley County Medical Center in Tribune, Kansas. Elizabeth was born September 24, 1907 in Butler, Missouri, the daughter of Arthur P. & May Brock Geneva. She was a homemaker and farm wife and had been a Greeley County resident since 1958 moving from Wellington, Kansas where they had resided for some forty years.
Sarah was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Tribune, Kansas and the Order of the Eastern Star at Wellington, Kansas.
On May 15, 1926 she married Raymond Andrew ( Ted ) Smith at Iola, Kansas. He passed away on February 28, 1988 at Tribune, Kansas.
Sarah's surviving family members include- One son and his wife- Jerry & Ellie Smith- Tribune, Kansas Two granddaughters- Susan Lee Smith McNelly- Flagstaff, Arizona Julianne Smith Herring- Tribune, Kansas Three great grandchildren and one great great grandchild She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sons, Richard G. Smith & Donald M. Smith, one brother and three sisters.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 1, 2009 at the First Presbyterian Church in Tribune, Kansas with the Reverend Charles Ayers officiating.
Inurnment will be in Leoti Cemetery in Leoti, Kansas
There will be no visitation
