Karla Ridder

Marienthal, Kansas Karla Kay ( Giesick ) Ridder, age 55, passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at Hays Medical Center in Hays, Kansas. Karla was born May 23, 1954 in Leoti, Kansas the daughter of Earl Frederick & Florence Lorene Ray Giesick. She was a 1972 graduate of Wichita County High School, a lifetime Wichita County resident and was elected to serve as Wichita County Clerk in 1995 until the present. Karla was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Marienthal, Kansas, Iota Pi sorority in Leoti, Kansas as well as the Kansas Association of County Clerks in Topeka, Kansas. On August 10, 1974 she married Charles M. ( Chuck ) Ridder in Leoti, Kansas. He survives. Karla's other surviving family includes- A Son & his wife- Joshua Jerald & Alicia Maria ( Thomas ) Ridder- Leoti, Kansas One daughter & her husband- Lexi Leigh & Terry Lee Gardner- Hays, Kansas Her parents- Earl & Lorene Giesick- Leoti, Kansas A sister and her husband Jana Ray & Neal Rairden- Richmond, Virginia Three grandchildren Aiden Earl Gardner- Hays, Kansas Caleb Joseph Ridder- Leoti, Kansas Benjamin Charles Ridder- Leoti, Kansas Vigil services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, June 26, 2009 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Marienthal, Kansas. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 27, 2009 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Marienthal, Kansas with Father Benjamin Martin officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery in Marienthal, Kansas Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Friday at Price and Sons Funeral Home in Leoti, Kansas. Memorials may be given to the Wichita County Amusement Association or the Dreiling- Schmidt Cancer Institute at Hays Medical Center in care of the funeral home.
