Barbara Miller

Barbara Jane Miller, age 73, died Monday, March 22, 2010 at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona. She was born on November 8, 1936 in Garden City, Kansas the daughter of S.C. (Joe) Jordan and Mary Smith Jordan. In 1950 the family moved to Pomona, California where she graduated from High School in 1954 moving to Garden City later that year. They settled in the Holcomb area and Barbara worked as a homemaker. Later she obtained her cosmetology license and owned her own Beauty Shop. In 1998 she moved from Kansas and has since been a resident of Wickenburg, Arizona and Green Mountain Falls, Colorado. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, and several Humane Societies and community groups in Arizona and Colorado. She was also a member of the P.E.O. women's educational organization. She enjoyed traveling and had a passion for animals. She took special care of her dogs and loved spending time with all the members of her family. On October 17, 1954 she married Lawrence Miller in Garden City, Kansas. Survivors include: Three Sons, Gary Miller of Holcomb, Kansas, Tim Miller of Holcomb, Kansas and Tom Miller of Garden City, Kansas; One Daughter, Cheryl Hand of Lawrence, Kansas; Two Sisters, Ellen Gilliam of Pasadena, California and Bonnie Hassall of Wickenburg, Arizona; Eleven Grandchildren and Four Great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will be held at 10:30am, Tuesday, March 30th at the First United Methodist Church in Garden City, Kansas with Rev. David Bell presiding. Interment will be held in the Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas. Friends may call from 10amâÂÂ8pm Monday @ the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City. The family requests memorials be made to the Humane Society in care of Price and Sons Funeral Home, 620 N. Main, Garden City, KS 67846.
