Ethel Edna McClure, age 89, died Friday, July 17, 2009 at Garden Valley Retirement Village in Garden City, Kansas. She was born on November 27, 1919 in Sublette, Kansas the daughter of Don R. and Allie C. Kells Carroll. She was a homemaker and had been a resident of Garden City, Kansas since 1945 moving from Stanton County, Kansas.
She was a member of the First Christian Church and was a lifetime member of the Order Of The Eastern Star both of Garden City, Kansas. She was a past member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and was involved with the local PTA. She enjoyed ceramics, gardening, painting and working with stain glass.
On July 24, 1940 she married Frank H. McClure in Garden City, Kansas. He died May 27, 1981 in Kansas City, Kansas.
Survivors Include: Two Sons, Doug McClure of Garden City, Kansas and Mark McClure of Glendale, Arizona; Three Brothers, Jim Carroll of Garden City, Kansas, Roy Carroll of Cheyenne Wells, Colorado and Raymond Carroll of Garden City, Kansas; Two Sisters, Inez Dew of Garden City, Kansas and Crystal Travers of Garden City, Kansas; Five Grandchildren and Three Great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers and 2 sisters.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00pm on Monday, July 20, 2009 at the First Christian Church in Garden City, Kansas with Rev. Paul Klaus presiding.
Friends may call from 10:00am until Noon on Monday at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas.
Interment will be held in the Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas.
The family requests memorials be given to the Garden Valley Retirement Village in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City.
