Mary Marcy

Mary Elizabeth Marcy, age 93, passed away on Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at her home in Scott City, Kansas. She was born on September 18, 1915 in Scott County, Kansas, the daughter of Robert Roberts and Rose Edith Griffin Brooks. A lifetime resident of Scott City, Kansas, she was a homemaker. Her memberships include the Christadelphian Ecclesia of Kansas City, Kansas, Scott County Historical Society, and the VIP Senior Center Band. She attended and supported the First Baptist Church and was a member of the American Baptist Women. On July 19, 1937 she married Joe Kenneth Marcy in Denver, Colorado. He passed away on June 9, 1983 in Scott City, Kansas. Survivors include: One Son - Gary Lynn Marcy of Scott City, Kansas, Two Daughters - Mary Ann Evans of Scott City, Kansas and Nancy Jo Marcy of Kansas City, Missouri, One Sister - Edith Rose Norman of Scott City, Kansas, Five Grandchildren and Ten Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, One Daughter â Ethel Dee Marcy, One Brother â Robert Brooks, Jr., One Sister â Doris Mae Pennell and One Grandson â David P. Evans. Graveside Service will be held at the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas at 10:30 a.m. Monday September 29, 2008 with the Rev. Kyle Evans of the First Baptist Church presiding. Interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas. Memorials In Lieu of Flowers may be given to the Scott County Breadbasket Alliance % Price & Sons Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday, 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday and 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Monday @ Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas.
