Garden City, KS Leona J. Fisher, 81, formerly of Garden City, Kansas, passed away at the Buena Vista Care & Rehabilitation Center in Midwest City, Oklahoma on Friday, July 17, 2008. She was born on September 19, 1927, in Amarillo, Texas, the daughter of Richard E. and Thelma Frazier Ross. A resident of Noble, Oklahoma for 6 years, moving from Garden City, she had worked as a sales secretary for 23 years for the Acra Plant in Garden City. She is a member Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Garden City, Kansas. On June 17, 1946 she married Emmert Earl Fisher in Clayton, New Mexico. He passed away on April 9, 1998 in Garden City, Kansas. Survivors Include: Daughter, Nancy Robinson of Norman, Oklahoma; 2 Sons, Richard Fisher of Salina, Kansas, and Edwyn Fisher of Pensecola, Florida; One Sister Evelyn Mayo of Pueblo, Colorado 13 Grandchildren and 18 Great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Douglas Earl Fisher and 1 Grandson, Kelly Dean Robinson. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30am, Thursday, July 23, 2009 at the Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Garden City, Kansas with Brother George Redd officiating. Interment will be held in Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas. Friends may call from 1:00-8:00pm, Wednesday, with family receiving friends from 6-8pm, at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City. The family requests memorials may be given to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City.
