Martha Jean “Nean” Dixon, age 95, passed away on February 1, 2022, at the Greeley County Hospital in Tribune, Kansas. She was born on April 11, 1926, in Fort Scott, Kansas, the daughter of William Vern & Edna Marguerite Masterson Dixon. A resident of Tribune, Kansas since 1996 moving from Dodge City, Kansas, she was a Teacher and Bookkeeper.
She taught school in Deerfield, Kansas, Longview, Washington, Norwalk, California, Thousand Oaks, California, and Dodge City, Kansas. Jean also taught military-dependent children for the Department of Defense on bases in Germany, the Philippines, and Japan. She also kept books for Montgomery Ward in Fort Scott, Kansas, and for Dixon Drug in Tribune, Kansas.
Jean was a volunteer at the Greeley County Library in Tribune, Kansas, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Fort Scott, Kansas, First Presbyterian Church of Tribune, Kansas, and the Kansas & National Education Association.
Survivors include her One Brother - James B. & Barbara Dixon of Caldwell, Idaho, Ten Nieces & Nephews - Patricia & Stephen Ross of Lacey, Washington, Kenneth & Maureen Waln of Coupeville, Washington, Jane Scarffe of Baldwin City, Kansas, Wade & Kerry Dixon of Tribune, Kansas, Chris & Kellee Dixon of Tribune, Kansas, Shann & Paul Kim of Woodinville, Washington, Keith Dixon of Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho, Amy & Gordon Miller of Santa Rosa, California, Brooke & Tom Tacchini of Caldwell, Idaho, Brenda & Eric Meyer of Kuna, Idaho, Thirty-One Grand Nieces & Nephews, and Two Great Nieces & Nephews.
She was preceded in death by her Parents, Two Brothers - William “Vee” Dixon Jr. & Thomas Dixon, and One Sister - Marguerite “Liz” Waln.
Private family Graveside Service will take place on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at the Greeley County Cemetery in Tribune, Kansas with Pastor Jeri Farmer-Smith presiding.
A Public Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 18, 2022, at Price & Sons Funeral Home, 322 2nd Street, Tribune, Kansas, 67879.
