Kenneth Ray Bishop, 98, passed away on November 13, 2021 at the Wichita County Hospital. He was born at the family farm in rural Wichita County on  February 19, 1923, the son of Elvin and Inez Henry Bishop.

Kenneth was a life time member of the Leoti community. After serving during World War II in the US Army Air Corps, he returned to Leoti and worked as a farmer and rancher.

On June 24, 1945, he married Elizabeth Jane Pflaumer in Kansas City, Kansas. She passed away on June 13, 2015.

Ken enjoyed raising Appaloosa Horses and was a founding member of the High Plains Appaloosa Horse club. He always looked forward to showing a colt at the Wichita County Fair in the County Colt Class. He enjoyed hunting indian arrow heads and artifacts, fishing, visiting the museum, and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his son Kelly Bishop and wife Chris of Leoti, Kansas, one granddaughter, Kyla and her husband Paden Owens of Leoti, Kansas, four great-grandchildren; Kelly Bishop Owens, Mesa Rae Owens, Mercy Johanna Owens, Raegan Leola Owens of Leoti, Kansas, five nieces, five nephews, and their families.

He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, one sister, LoRee Scott, one brother Leslie Merle Bishop, four nieces and one nephew.

Funeral Services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, November 22, 2021 at the First United Methodist Church in Leoti, Kansas.

Interment will be in the Leoti Cemetery in Leoti, Kansas.

Visitation will be on Saturday, November 20, from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm and Sunday, November 21, from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Price and Sons Funeral Home in Leoti, Kansas at 4th and J Street.

Memorials In Lieu of Flowers can be made to the Museum of the Great Plains and the Leoti EMS.
