Freda Ellis, age 89, passed away on Friday, November 28, 2008 at her home in Anderson, Missouri. She was born on October 9, 1919 in Ness County, Kansas, the daughter of Alexander and Anna Hafner Schwartz Sr. The Schwartz family moved to Lane County, Kansas in September of 1928. She attended schools in Ness County and also in Lane County. In 1938 she moved to Scott County, Kansas and then in 1976 she moved to Anderson, Missouri. She was a homemaker. Freda was a member of the Honeylake Union Church in Anderson, Missouri. She was a Sunday School teacher and also the church treasurer for many years. On June 12, 1938 she married Harold Ellis in Dighton, Kansas. He passed away on November 15, 1994 in Anderson, Missouri. Survivors include Three Sons - Charles Ellis of Seattle, Washington, Mark & Sheila Ellis of Scott City, Kansas, Mike & Anita Ellis of Scott City, Kansas, One Daughter - Cheri & Darrin Campbell of Anderson, Missouri, Seventeen Grandchildren, and Six Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, Two Daughters â Marie Love and Karen Knoles, Three Brothers â Alexander Schwartz Jr., Victor Schwartz, Benjamin Schwartz, Four Sisters â Elizabeth Heronemus, Lydia Keene, Esther Stieben, and Rachel Nusser, Two Grandchildren â Victoria Ellis and Tracy St. Marie. Graveside Services will be held at the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 2, 2008 with the Rev. Don Williams presiding. Interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas. Memorials in Lieu of flower may be given to the Pence Community Church Building Fund % Price & Sons Funeral Home Visitation will be at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday.
