Betty Jean Shelton Austin, age 91, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 25, 2020, at her home in Scott City, Kansas. She was born on January 3, 1929, in Glade, Kansas, the daughter of John Allen and Vernie McLaughlin Baker. A resident of Scott City, Kansas since 1979 moving from Guymon, Oklahoma, she was a retired secretary from HRC Feedyard and was the owner and operator of Kringle’s Kreations where she sent her Santa’s all over the world. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Scott City, Kansas. On November 8, 1946, she married Charles Shelton in Ness City, Kansas. He passed away in March of 1979 in Guymon, Oklahoma. On January 29, 1983, she married Robert Austin in Scott City, Kansas. He passed away in November of 2002 in Scott City, Kansas. Survivors include Her Six Children - Sherry & Robert Brooks of Broomfield, Colorado, Nikki & Alan Geier of Garden City, Kansas, Allen & Patrice Shelton of Garden City, Kansas, Steve & Lou Shelton of Scott City, Kansas, Craig & Patty Shelton of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Elizabeth & Gil Lewis of Scott City, Kansas, One Step Son - Mike & Lynn Austin of Graham, Washington, Twenty-One Grandchildren, Sixteen Great Grandchildren, and Four Great Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Two Husbands, One Brother - Cecil Baker, and One Sister - Viola Benedict. Memorial Services will be 2:00 pm Friday, October 2, 2020, at the First Baptist Church in Scott City, Kansas with Rev. Kyle Evans presiding. Inurnment will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas. Memorials In Lieu of Flower may be written to the Scott County Health Department. There will be no visitation times.
