Joe Delgado

Joe G. Delgado, age 90, died Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at the Garden Valley Retirement Village in Garden City, Kansas. He was born on January 28, 1919 in McPherson, Kansas the son of Manuel G. and Maria Rodriquez Delgado. A resident of Garden City for most of his life moving from McPherson, he was a Maintenance Technician for the State of Kansas. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church of Garden City and was a WWII veteran. On July 20, 1962, he married Olivia Robles in Dodge City, Kansas. She died September 2, 1981 in Garden City, Kansas. Survivors include: One Brother, Mickey Delgado of Chicago, Illinois; Three Sisters, Lelia Leon of Bucklin, Kansas, Mary D. Rojas of Garden City, Kansas and Josephine Guadalupe of Pittsburg, California. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and one sister. Graveside Services will be held at 11:00am on Monday, November 2, 2009 at the Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, with Father Francis Khoi Nguyen presiding. There will be no calling times at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be given to the Joe Delgado Memorial Fund in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home.
