Johnnie Truman Schwindt, age 86, passed away on September 2, 2018 at The Cottages in Garden City, Kansas.  He was born on January 7, 1932 in Leoti, Kansas, the son of Herman H. and Olive O. Sowers Schwindt.

He attended the Countryview Baptist Church in Ulysses, Kansas and was a member of  the Eagles Lodge of Garden City, Kansas.  Johnnie owned and operated many business’s in the Southwest Kansas area including a flower shop and several Daylight Dounuts shops.

On May 22, 1955 he married Shirley Jo Humble in Leoti, Kansas.  They enjoyed 63 happy years together.She survives.

Estella and Terry Wells of Arizona

Christine Schwindt of Liverpool, New York

nine grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and one great great granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Larry Schwindt, and one great granddaughter, Faith.

Funeral services will be held at the Garden City Nazarene Church on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at 11:00 a.m.

Interment will follow at the Valley View Cemetery in Garden City.

Visitation is from 10-8 on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 with the family present from 5-7 at Price and Sons Funeral Home.
