Shirley Ann Ekart, age 84, died on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at her residence in Garden City, Kansas.  She was born on January 6, 1933 the daughter of Carey Ansel and Bertha Henrietta Roy Colburn in Garden City, Kansas.

She is a lifetime resident of Garden City and worked as a school cook for 25 years for the USD 457.

On August 18, 1951 she married Robert L. Ekart in Garden City, Kansas.  He preceded her in death on June 5, 2006.

Survivors include:

    Three Daughters            Vicki Lynn Wallace of Garden City, Kansas

                        Kimi Ann Goetting of Garden City, Kansas

                        Tammy Sue Tichenor of Topeka, Kansas

    Nine Grandchildren, Twenty-three Great Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2017 at 10:00 am at the Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City, Kansas.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January3, 2017 from 10-8 pm at Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City.

Memorials in lieu of flowers may be made to the Godmothers or the American Alzheimer’s Association in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home; 620 N. Main St. Garden City, Kansas 67846.

Private family burial will take place at the Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas.
