Zelda Jean Krenzel, age 86, passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at Wichita County Health Center in Leoti, Kansas. Zelda was born March 6, 1928 at Blackwell, Oklahoma, the daughter of Rudolph & Bertha Mesecher Heuszel. A lifetime resident of Wichita County, Kansas, she was a homemaker and business owner and farm wife. She and her family enjoyed camping and fishing.
Zelda was a member of the United Methodist Church in Leoti, Kansas as well as the Wichita County Amusement Association and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She and Jess ran Bingo games throughout the community always donating the proceeds to the Leoti Christmas Lighting Fund.
On June 18, 1946 she married Jess W. Krenzel at Scott City, Kansas. Jess passed away on April 14, 2013 at Leoti, Kansas.
Zelda’s surviving family includes- Two Daughters- Carolyn Sue Crawford and fiancé Herschel Runyon- Kingman, Kansas; Beverly & Jim Ochs- Springfield, Missouri; One sister- Zelma Burch- Syracuse, Kansas; Four grandchildren and eight great – grandchildren. Her parents and two siblings precede her in death.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 am Monday, December 15, 2014 at the United Methodist Church in Leoti, Kansas with the Reverend Brad Kirk officiating.
Burial will be in Leoti Cemetery in Leoti, Kansas.
Friends may call from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm Saturday and Sunday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Leoti, Kansas.
Memorials may be given to the Leoti EMT’s or the Wichita County Health Center Long Term Care in care of the funeral home.
