Willis Pracht, age 68, died on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at the St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas. He was born on August 25, 1952 in Belleville, Kansas, the son of Delmar and Ada Gregory Pracht.
Willis began his career in Garden City as a teacher for USD-457, teaching at Georgia Matthew Elementary School. After receiving his Master’s degree from Fort Hays State University, he became the principal at Garfield Elementary and Theoni Elementary. A lover of music, he sang and played guitar across the state, entertaining people at venues big and small. He was a founding member of Garden City’s Tumbleweed Festival, booking and promoting entertainers from around the world. Willis was also a member of the First United Methodist Church in Garden City where he sang in the choir and was engaged in outreach programs.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 10am - 8pm on Monday, December 7, 2020. High risk individuals are welcome to come to the funeral home between 9am -10am. In accordance with City of Garden City Ordinance 2884-2020, and at the request of family, masks are required to be worn at all times while attending the visitation.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, December 8, 2020, at the Belleville City Cemetery in Belleville, Kansas at 1 pm. Funeral services will be streamed on Price & Sons Funeral Home’s Facebook page.
Limited memorial services are due to COVID-19. An additional memorial will be held at a later date.
