Wilbert C. Koehn, age 84, passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2014 at the St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas, due to complications from a broken hip. He was born on February 27, 1930, in Canton, Kansas, the son of Frank E. and Leah Koehn.
He was a resident and farmer of rural Wichita County, Kansas just north of Marienthal, Kansas, since September of 1953. In November of 2011 he moved to Bethel Home in Montezuma, Kansas.
On January 20, 1952, he married Margie Darlene Unruh in rural McPherson County, Kansas. That union was broken on July 8, 2008 when she passed away in Wichita, Kansas. Wilbert was a member of Scott Mennonite Church in Scott City, Kansas.
Survivors include his three sons: Merle and wife, Judy, of Marienthal, Kansas; Stanley and wife, Cindy, of Cheraw, South Carolina; Dale and wife, Kandee, of Marienthal, Kansas; two daughters: Joanne and husband, Larry Yost of Sutherland, Nebraska; Holly and husband, Randall Giesbrecht, of Mesa, Washington; Five Sisters: Verna Dyck of Portland, Oregon; Viola Ratzloff of Canton, Kansas; Rose & Don Hiebert of Iroquois, South Dakota; Sylvia & Warren Eicher of Carson City, Michigan; Lanita & Dennis Unruh of Canton, Kansas; one brother in law; Kenneth Unruh of Canton, Kansas; twenty-one grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, one brother: Jim Koehn, one sister: Darlene Unruh, one sister in law: Christina Koehn, two brothers in law: Irvin Dyck and Thomas Ratzloff.
Funeral Service will be held at the Scott Mennonite Church in Pence, Kansas at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 20, 2014 with Richard Koehn presiding.
Interment will be in the Scott Mennonite Church Cemetery in Pence, Kansas.
Memorials may be given to the Bethel Home in Montezuma, Kansas in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home.
Visitation hours will be from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday and 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Friday @ Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas.
