Wayne McMillan

Wayne Eugene McMillan, age 81, died Sunday, April 18, 2010, at the Manor Care Health Services in Wichita, Kansas. He was born October 23, 1928 in Brownell, Kansas the son of Robert C. and Leona Squiers McMillan. A former resident of Garden City for 40 years, moving to Wichita in 2006, he was owner and operator of Garden Optical in Garden City. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Garden City. On January 6, 1950 he married Dorothy Mae Jones in Great Bend, Kansas. She survives. Other Survivors Include: One Son, Wayne (and Barbara) McMillan, Jr. of Haysville, Kansas; One Daughter, Cherry Lovato of Wichita, Kansas; One Grandson, Caleb (and Dolly) McMillan of Holcomb, Kansas; One Granddaughter, Amber Meyers McMillan of Derby, Kansas; and Five Great-Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Richard McMillan and his Son-In-Law, Stephen Lovato. Graveside Services will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 in the Vansburgh Cemetery in Brownell, Kansas with Rev. Randy Caddell presiding. Friends may call from 10:00am-8:00pm Tuesday at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas. The family requests memorials be given to the Wayne McMillan Memorial Fund in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City, Kansas.
