Warren Henry “Hank” Robertson, 81, of Tribune, Kansas passed away on February 8th, 2020 at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita Kansas, after a short but fierce battle with lymphoma.
Hank was born in Buffalo, Oklahoma on December 2nd, 1938 to parents Mary Elizabeth (Irion) & Eugene Oral Robertson. He grew up on a farm in Harper County Oklahoma and attended high school in Buffalo, Oklahoma graduating in 1956. Hank grew up participating in FFA, football, and land judging.
Hank attended Northwestern State College in Alva, OK for one year where he met the love of his life, Alice McKinney. Hank and Alice transferred to Southwestern Oklahoma State University the next year, in Weatherford, Oklahoma where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy, in 1961. Hank married Alice Gwen McKinney of Englewood, Kansas on April 5th, 1958. Their wedding was held at the United Methodist Church in Englewood, Kansas.
Hanks first job out of Pharmacy School was in Yukon, Oklahoma, followed by a year in Liberal, Kansas before moving to Dodge City working at Palace Drug. In 1965 Hank and Alice moved to Tribune, Kansas where they purchased Richardson Rexall Drug later becoming Robertson Drug which they owned for 25 years. Hank also partnered with his lifelong friend, Waldo Hale at Hamilton County Drug. During this time Hank and Alice also started a farming operation, which continues today. Hank held a pharmacy license in Oklahoma, Colorado and Kansas receiving his 50-year pin from the Kansas and Oklahoma Boards of Pharmacy. Hank practiced pharmacy for 59 years.
Hank enjoyed hunting, fishing, flying, going to the lake, and his grandchildren. He worked hard and loved farming, driving his truck and tractor, which he did right up to the end of his life. He was involved in many organizations and activities including Greeley County School Board, Kansas Livestock Association, Elks Club, Rotary, Dance Club, and the University of Kansas School of Pharmacy Deans Club.
Hank is survived by his children, Barb & Darrel Johnson Bentonville, Arkansas. Mark & Judy Robertson, Tribune, Kansas. Scot & Lisa Robertson, Tribune, Kansas and Jena & Jonathan Brunswig, Scott City, Kansas. Grandchildren: Clint & Amanda Johnson, Cole Robertson, Shanon & Cale Miller, Clay and Megan Robertson, Carly & Nathan Larson, Megan Robertson, Katelyn Robertson, Reid Brunswig, Allison Brunswig, and Canon Brunswig. Also, one great granddaughter Madilyn Miller. He is survived by one brother, Leland Robertson and one sister, Mary Aurel Dahlstrom. Hank is preceded in death by his wife Alice Robertson, his parents, one brother, Calvin Robertson, and one granddaughter Jenny Johnson.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm (MST) Thursday, February 13th, at the Greeley County Cemetery at Tribune, Kansas with Jerry Young officiating. Friends and family will gather at St Joseph’s Parish Hall following graveside services. Hank will be greatly missed by his friends and family. Friends may call from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm Wednesday, February 12th, at Price and Sons Funeral Home in Tribune, Kansas.
