Wanda Giskie

Garden City, Kansas Wanda Gail Giskie, age 74, died Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at the Garden Valley Retirement Village in Garden City, Kansas. She was born September 20, 1934 in Holly, Colorado the daughter of Edwin & Edna Coons Reinert. A resident of Garden City since 1971 moving from Towner, Colorado she had worked as a secretary for USD #457 and then later as payroll clerk for the Garden City Community College, retiring in 1996. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women, both of Garden City. On April 5, 1953 she married Kenneth Giskie in Towner, Colorado. He survives. Other Survivors Include: a Son, Edgar (and wife, Debra) of Liberal, Kansas; a Sister, Karen Grim of Garden City, Kansas; four Grandchildren, and ten Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Erwin Dean Giskie, and a brother, James Edwin Reinert. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00am on Friday, July 24, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church in Garden City, Kansas with the Rev. David Bell presiding. Interment will be in the Lakin Cemetery in Lakin, Kansas. Friends may call from Noon-8:00pm Thursday at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas. The family requests memorials be given to the Broncbuster Athletic Association in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home.
