Wanda England passed away on December 6, 2012 at Medicalodge in Arkansas City. She was a homemaker.
She was born to Nora (Blummer) Shifflett and Ivory Preston Shifflett on Oct. 2, 1927 in Orland, Calif. She grew up in California and moved with her family to Oklahoma when she was 16. She married Bob Edgar England July 25, 1946 in Winfield.
They lived in Idaho, Oklahoma, Missouri, Illinois, Montana, Colorado and Kansas. She had lived in Tribune since 1965 and moved to Arkansas City in 2007. Bob and Wanda both had many siblings and enjoyed spending time with them.
She enjoyed crafts, sewing, crocheting, baking, reading and drawing.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bob, mother Nora, father Ivory, a sister Florence and four brothers Harrold Shifflett, Chester Shifflett, Cleo (Mike)Shifflett, and Ivory (Jr.) Shifflett, a daughter-in-law Linda England, a son-in-law Ronald Moore, and a sister-in-law Edna Parrish.
She is survived by a sister Ruby Thomas of Eugene, Ore., two brothers William Gerald (Duke) of Oakwood, Okla., and Carroll Dean (Jack) Shifflett of Oakwood, Okla. Three daughters: Barbara Moore of Ulysses, Gloria (Larry) Miser and Shirley (Kevin) Bennett of Arkansas City and a son Pat (Stacy) England of Winfield. Thirteen grandchildren: Kendall (Janet) Moore, Gene (Janet) Moore, Rusty (Cherie) Millirons, Richard Millirons, Matthew (Samantha) Moore, ReAnn England, Mark (Tracy) Moore, Charithah (Mike) Pricer, Byron (Nikki) England, Brianna Bennett, Bobbie Jo Bennett, Drew Bennett, and KC Bennett. She is survived by 18 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
She is also survived by Bob's sisters: Alma Hatter, Dorothy Shanley, Vergie Guion and Vera Burgin
Memorials may be given to the Hospice Care of Kansas % Price & Sons Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. (mountain time) Dec. 12, 2012 at First Baptist Church in Tribune, Kansas. Graveside service will be at Greeley County Cemetery in Tribune, Kansas. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and 10:00 a.m. until service time on Wednesday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Tribune, Kansas.
