Walter Donald Waldren, age 82, passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at his home in Selkirk, Kansas. He was born on October 19, 1942, in Syracuse, Kansas to Walter Benjamin and Leona Regina Younger Waldren. He was a lifelong resident of the area, having grown up in Tribune and making his home in Wichita County, Kansas.
He was a master craftsman with skills in welding and woodworking. He was a member of the St. Joseph Church in Tribune. He loved playing pitch on Wednesdays at the Senior Center in Leoti. He was a bull rider and loved partying and dancing. He had his own dance style. He loved coyote hunting with his greyhounds. He loved going to the family reunions in Nebraska and Texas.
On January 12, 1963, Walter married Carolyn Lea Lemmer at Sharon Springs, Kansas. She survives.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn, children Karolyn & Elias Moreno, Katrina & Eric Hoffman, Karla & Rick Dilling, Walter James Waldren, his grandchildren, Joella, Samara, Brandol, Tanisha, Elias, Travis, Ricky, Ashley, and several great-grandchildren.
Walter was preceded in death by his parents, sister - Marilyn Louise Waldren Sloan, and two baby brothers.

A vigil will be held on Sunday, January 19th at 7:00 (MTN)at St. Joseph the Worker in Tribune, Kansas, with Father Bernard Felix presiding.
The funeral mass will be held at St. Joseph the Worker in Tribune, Kansas on January 20, 2025, at 10:30 (MTN), with Fr. Bernard Felix presiding. Interment will follow at the Greeley County Cemetery in Tribune, Kansas.
Public visitation will be on Saturday, January 18th from 2:00 until 8:00 (MTN) and on Sunday, January 19th from 1:00 until 5:00 (MTN).
