Wallace E. "Wally" Bohling, age 76, passed away on Friday, January 25, 2008 at his home in Holcomb, Kansas. He was born on March 12, 1931 on a farm South of Meade, Kansas, the son of Ernest F. and Hilda E. Zellmer Bohling. He was a rancher and self-employed contractor and had been a resident of Holcomb since 1963 moving from Kendall, Kansas.
He was baptised into the Lutheran faith and was a US Army Veteran serving his country during the Korean Conflict. He also belonged to the John J. Haskell VFW Post 2279 and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #3124 both of Garden City, KS. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, meeting with his coffee buddies and watching KU Basketball.
On November 5, 1955 he married Betty Stice at Clayton, New Mexico. She survives.
Other Survivors Include: Three Daughters, Cathy Kennedy of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Linda Schmidt of Syracuse, Kansas and Gloria Benecke of Bedford, Kentucky; Two Brothers, Marvin Bohling of Jetmore, Kansas and Arlen Bohling of Worley, Idaho; Three Sisters, Opal Root of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Alice Dunkin of Buffalo, Wyoming and Arlene Allison of Kingman, Arizona; Four Grandchildren, Justin Bohling of Holcomb, Kansas, Sharlene Schmidt of Manhattan, Kansas, Lanette Schmidt of Hutchinson, Kansas and Nathan Schmidt of Plainview, Texas; One Great-Grandchild, Lillian Pepper of Aurora, Colorado.
He was preceded in death by Four Sisters, Three Nephews and One Great-Niece.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30am on Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas with Rev. Lynn Spencer presiding.
Interment will be held at 3:00pm on Tuesday at the Graceland Cemetery in Meade, Kansas with full military honors being presented by the Fort Riley Veterans Honor Guard.
