Garden City, Kansas Wallace Dalton Bascue, age 70, died Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at the Homestead Health & Rehabilitation Center in Garden City, Kansas. He was born August 11, 1939 in Ozark, Arkansas the son of Tobie S. and Pearl Self Bascue. He had been a Garden City resident since 1959 moving from Ozark, Arkansas and from 1963-1965, he served as Finney County Under Sheriff. He also had worked as a truck driver until his retirement in 2000. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church of Garden City, Kansas and he enjoyed playing softball, Texas Hold 'Em, fishing and watching his children and grandchildren participate in sports. On February 11, 1961, he married Glorianne Rose Knoll in Garden City, Kansas. She survives. Other Survivors include: Four Sons, Kevin Bascue of Garden City, Kansas, Brian Bascue of Newton, Kansas, Brad Bascue of Garden City, Kansas and Chad Bascue of Olathe, Kansas; Four Daughters, Pamela Ricard of Manhattan, Kansas, Brenda Amaro of Olathe, Kansas, Jennifer Maier of Garden City, Kansas and Becky Rundell of Garden City, Kansas; One Brother, Archie Bascue of Garden City, Kansas; One Sister, Bobby Claunch of Goose Creek, South Carolina; Thirteen Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Norma Jean Bascue. Vigil and Rosary services will be held at 7:00pm on Thursday, September 24, 2009 at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City. The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30am on Friday, September 25, 2009 at the St. Mary Catholic Church with Father James Baker presiding. Friends may call from 10:00am-8:00pm on Thursday at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas. Interment will be in the Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be given to the Wallace Bascue Memorial Fund in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City.
