Vivian Irene Rintoul, age 93, died Sunday, August 21, 2011 at the St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas. She was born on May 4, 1918 in Coldwater, Kansas the daughter of Lloyd W. and Fae Whelpley Korf. A resident of Garden City since 1924, she was a homemaker, cosmetologist and former owner of the Cree-Mee Drive In.
Vivian was a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of Garden City, Kansas.
On May 4, 1939 she married Merle Rintoul on the family farm South of Ingalls, Kansas. He died March 5, 1991 in Garden City, Kansas.
Survivors Include: One Son, Dwane Rintoul of Haysville, Kansas Three Daughters, Merlene Wampler of Garden City, Kansas, Vickie Reid of Garden City, Kansas and Kay Oller of Liberal, Kansas; Eleven Grandchildren Twenty-Five Great-Grandchildren and One Great-Great-Grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a grandchild, a brother & 2 sisters.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, August 25, 2011 at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas with Pastor Bill Korf presiding.
Friends may call from 10:00am-8:00pm Wednesday @ the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas.
Interment will be in the Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas.
The family requests memorials be given to Residential Council Fund at the Homestead Assisted Living Center in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City, Kansas.
