Virginia Mae Lee, age 95, passed away at The Cottages in Garden City, Kansas on Saturday, May 7, 2022. She was born on May 30, 1926 in Wichita County, Kansas, the daughter of Joseph F. and Hattie E. (Schwindt) Gerstberger. A lifetime resident of Wichita County, Kansas, she moved to Garden City, Kansas in 2012. She was a homemaker and rancher/farmer’s wife. She was a caregiver to many, enjoyed dancing, gardening, and spending winters in Yuma, Arizona
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Leoti, Kansas, a 60-year Order of the Eastern Star member, and a Rebekah Lodge member.
On December 1, 1949, she married Donald D. Lee in Leoti, Kansas. He passed away on September 5, 1990, in Garden City, Kansas.
Survivors include her three sons - Walton Lee of Anthony, Kansas, Charles & Sherry Lee of Manhattan, Kansas, Terry & Carol Lee of Garden City, Kansas, one daughter - Tana & Donnie Emick of Lamar, Colorado, one sister-in-law - Phyllis Gerstberger of Gainesville, Texas, seven grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son - Gary, and three brothers.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at the United Methodist Church in Leoti, Kansas with the Rev. Tod Anthony presiding.
Interment will be in the Leoti Cemetery in Leoti, Kansas.
Memorial in lieu of flowers can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Leoti EMS in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home, PO Box 161, Leoti, Kansas, 67861.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday at Price & Sons Funeral Home, 4th & J Street, Leoti, Kansas, 67861.
