Virginia Mae DeWitt, age 82, died Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at the Scott County Hospital in Scott City, Kansas. She was born on March 27, 1931 in Hillsboro, Kansas the daughter of David & Eva Janzen Krause. Virginia was a hairdresser and had been a resident of Scott City since 1962.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Scott City, Kansas.
On March 23, 1952, she married George DeWitt in Deerfield, Kansas. He died October 28, 2008 in Scott City, Kansas.
Survivors Include:
Two Sons, David DeWitt of Wamego, Kansas and
Patrick DeWitt of Garden City, Kansas;
Two Daughters, Shawn Foster of Scott City, Kansas and
Lori DeWitt of Scott City, Kansas;
One Sister, Eyvonne Crase of Garden City, Kansas;
Thirteen Grandchildren and Sixteen Great-Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her Step-Father, Glen Morford and a Brother, Lloyd Krause.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30am on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Scott City, Kansas.
Burial will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas.
Friends may call from 10:00am-8:00pm Friday at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas.
Memorials may be given to the Silent Angels Animal Shelter or to the church both in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home.
