Virgie N. Silvey, age 94, passed away on Saturday, April 3, 2010 at the South Wind Hospice Home in Pratt, Kansas. She was born on October 10, 1915 in Lamar, Colorado, the daughter of Clifford J. and Lelia Jane Mendenhall Marriott. A resident of Scott County and Scott City since 1952, she was a homemaker.
Her memberships include the First Christian Church and the Hit & Miss Band of Scott City, Kansas.
On August 15, 1934 she married Mevlin M. "Hap" Silvey in Lamar, Colorado. He passed away on October 4, 2000 in Garden City, Kansas.
Survivors Include her Two Sons - Larry Silvey of Akron, Colorado, Jan Silvey of Scott City, Kansas, Two Daughters - Lillian Farr of Stafford, Kansas, Jeanne Cutler of Scott City, Kansas, One Brother - Coy Marriott of Denver, Colorado, One Sister - Muriel Huffaker of Vancouver, Canada, 9 Grandchildren, 23 Great Grandchildren, 4 Great Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, Three Brothers, One Sister, and One Granddaughter â Becky Gantz.
Funeral Services will be held at the First Christian Church in Scott City, Kansas at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 7, 2010 with the Rev. Jeff Knighton presiding.
Interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas.
Memorials may be given to the First Christian Church % Price & Sons Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 7:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City.
