Verene M. Kelley-Dearden, age 90, died on Monday, February 5, 2018 at the St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas.  She was born on February 10, 1927 in St. Francis, South Dakota the daughter of Carl and Lucelle Hinricks Dice.

She married Frank Gay. He preceded her in death.  On Oct. 3, 1947 she married Dr. Samuel Jack Kelley, he preceded her in death on June 3, 1977.  She married Lesley Dearden on September 22, 1979.  He preceded her in death on June 11, 1992.

She is a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church of Scott City, Kansas.

Survivors include:

    Four Children            Don and Sharon Kelley of Idaho

                    Jacque and Melvin Voth of Garden City, Kansas

                    Duane Kelley of Wichita, Kansas

                    Michael and Kolleen Kelley of Washington

    Seven Siblings        Jean and Don Brandenburger of Colorado

                    Arlene Boyde of Idaho

                    Darrell Dice of Idaho

                    Dennise Dice of Idaho

                    Kathy Coats of Washington

                    Rita Peterson of Idaho

                    Bonnie Todd of Washington

    Fifteen Grandchildren, and Fifty great grandchildren and twelve great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Claudia Trent; Six siblings, Renee Good, Dorthy Bender, Deloris Harkness, Sunny Dice, Midge Barber, Belva Dice.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 12, 2018 at the Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Scott City, Kansas at 10:30 am.  

Private Family interment will be held at the Scott County Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 1-8 on Sunday, January 11, 2018 at Price and Sons  Funeral Home of Scott City, Kansas.

Memorials are suggested in lieu of flowers to the Verene M. Kelley-Dearden Memorial Fund in care of Price & Sons Funeral Homes 620 N. Main St. Garden City, Kansas 67846.
