Vera K. Proehl, age 88, died Saturday, November 29, 2014 in Garden City, Kansas. She was born January 8, 1926 in Americus, Kansas, the daughter of William and Mattie Dunkin Tietz. A resident of Finney County since 1962, she had been a bookkeeper for various firms in the Garden City area.
She was a former resident, and member of the Pierceville Federated Church in Pierceville, Kansas. She was also a member or Dorcas. As a former resident of Hutchinson, Kansas, she was a member of Sew & Sew’s at 1st United Methodist Church.
On November 18, 1945, she married Lester Earnest Proehl in Americus, Kansas. He died January 26, 2001 in Garden City, Kansas.
Survivors Include:
Two Sons, Russell Proehl of Apollo Beach, Florida and
Allen Proehl of Holcomb, Kansas;
Two Daughters, Marjorie Frey of Emporia, Kansas and
Naomi Holloway of Hutchinson, Kansas;
Twenty Four Grandchildren and Numerous Great-Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two sons, Larry & Steven Proehl, a Grandson, Rick Troup, Three Brothers & Two Sisters.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30am on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at the Pierceville Federated Church in Pierceville, Kansas.
Friends may call from 1:00pm-8:00pm on Tuesday @ the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas.
Interment will be in the Pierceville Township Cemetery in Pierceville, Kansas.
Memorials may be given to the Vera Proehl Memorial Fund in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City, Kansas.
