Thomas Schemm

Tribune, Kansas Thomas Eugene Schemm, age 69, passed away on Friday, September 11, 2009 at his home in Tribune, Kansas. Tom was born April 8, 1940 in Wakeeney, Kansas the son of Paul George & Katherine Pastor Schemm. He was a 1958 graduate of Trego Community High School and had served his country from 1959 through 1963 as a submariner in the United States Navy. He worked in the oil fields in Colorado & Wyoming before moving to Tribune, Kansas in 1979 and retired from the Greeley County Road Department in 2002. Tom was a member of The Randall Reid Post # 3449 of the V.F.W. in Wakeeney, Kansas. Tom is survived by â His wife Darlene Turley- Tribune, Kansas One son- Andrew Schemm- Garden City, Kansas One daughter and her husband- Deena & Mat Tameris- Tribune, Kansas One step son- Danny Hoffman- Tribune, Kansas One step daughter- Lucinda Neyer- Dodge City, Kansas One brother- Richard Schemm- New York, New York Three sisters- Doris Koehn- Wakeeney, Kansas Helen Ziegler- Wakeeney, Kansas Ruth Nollette- Indio, California Five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Herman Schemm, August Schemm & Leo Schemm and one sister, Esther Pearson. Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. Memorial services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. (M.D.T.) Friday, September 25, 2009 at the Price and Sons Funeral Home in Tribune, Kansas. Memorials may be sent to the Greeley County Veteran Memorial in care of the funeral home.
