Thelma M. Farr, age 92, died Monday, September 22, 2014 at the High Plains Retirement Village in Lakin, Kansas. She was born on March 18, 1922 in Hill City, Kansas the daughter of Orlando R. and Madge Mae Bentley Benedict. A resident of Garden City since 1987, she was a homemaker.
She was a member of the First Christian Church, was a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, volunteered with RSVP and with her church nursery all in Garden City, Kansas.
On March 18, 1940 she married William “Bill” Farr in Hill City, Kansas. He died Dec. 17, 1986 in Great Bend, Kansas.
Survivors Include:
Two Sons, Don Farr of Great Bend, Kansas and
Leroy Farr of Aiken, South Carolina;
Four Daughters, Ione Louk of Lampe, Missouri,
Jane Polson of Lincoln, Nebraska,
Jean Bright of Brandon, Florida and
Shiela Dinkel of Garden City, Kansas;
Numerous Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren and One Great-Great-Grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband One Brother, Richard Benedict & One Sister, Rose Mary Hagler.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30am on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at the First Christian Church in Garden City, Kansas.
Friends may call from 6:00-8:00pm on Friday at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas.
Interment will be held at the Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas.
Memorials be given to the Special Care Unit at the High Plains Retirement Village in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City.
