Thelma Bland

Thelma R. Bland, age 70, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at the Citizens Medical Center in Colby, Kansas. She was born on July 30, 1943 in Chase, Kansas, the daughter of Edgar and Ruth Hof Meis. A resident of Scott City, Kansas since 1971 moving from Colby, Kansas, she was a Rural Letter Carrier for the United States Postal Service. She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City, Kansas. On July 15, 1963 she married Neil J. Bland in Plainville, Kansas. He survives. Survivors include her Husband - Neil J. Bland of Scott City, Kansas. Four Sons - Byron Bland of Ellis, Kansas, Warren Bland of Scott City, Kansas, Ryan Bland of Colby, Kansas, Randall Bland of Garden City, Kansas, Five Sisters - Marietta, Emma Lou, Linda, Rosalea, & Cindy and Three Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her Parents and Two Brothers. Vigil Service will be held at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City, Kansas at 7:00 p.m. Friday, June 27, 2014. Funeral Mass will be held at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City, Kansas 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 28, 2014 with Fr. Bernard Felix. Memorials may be given to the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City, Kansas % Price & Sons Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday and 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Friday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas.
