Terry J. Wycoff, age 66, passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, in Scott City, Kansas. He was born on April 9, 1957, in Oakley, Kansas, the son of Richard Andrew and Marlene Kathrine Mader Wycoff. Terry was raised in Russell Springs, Kansas then moved to Winona while in high school, graduating from the Tri-Plains school district. A resident of Scott City, Kansas since 1991 moving from Colby, Kansas, he was a sales representative for Kimball Midwest.
Terry was a man of many talents. He was a strong athlete with a competitive spirit. He was an excellent cook and enjoyed many opportunities to serve others with this gift. Through the years Terry held different positions in sales where he was able to meet new people and have great conversations.
Among Terry’s favorite places to be were his times with good friends making memories at NHRA Drag Racing events, either in the stands or helping them on the starting line, at home watching his Green Bay Packers or Kansas Jayhawks, but most of all, he loved track and field events– particularly when his daughter, Kelly, was competing. Even after she retired as an athlete, he continued to follow track & field, especially Brett and the athletes Kelly and Brett coach at Fort Hays State University.
Terry was known by many for his warm smile or wave and servant’s heart, always ready to help someone in need or simply offer encouragement.
As a member of the First Baptist Church, he enjoyed his years assisting with the radio ministry and serving in the kitchen with many events through the church at Scott City.
On August 10, 1991, he married Lora Ward in Golden, Colorado.
Survivors include his Wife - Lora Wycoff of Scott City, Kansas, children Kelly & Brett Meyer of Hays, Kansas, also Tanner Wycoff and Lindsay Wycoff Smith both of Overland Park, brothers - Jerry & Elaine Wycoff of Oakley, Andy & Lindy Wycoff of Little Rock, Arkansas, sister - Carla Wycoff of Minden, Nebraska, and expecting one grandson in April.
