T. Willard "Slim" Dunagan, age 96, passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at the Park Lane Nursing Home in Scott City, Kansas. He was born on January 18, 1915 in Okmulgee County, Oklahoma, the son of Thomas Lowery and Mary E. Mallory Dunagan. A resident of Scott City, Kansas since 2010 moving from Oklahoma, he was a retired owner and operator of Dunagan Iron Works Inc. and an oil field & refinery contractor.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Scott City, Kansas and a Odd Fellow Lodge member. He was a US Navy Radar Stricker Veteran of World War II.
In 1937 he married Julia Shull in Garden City, Kansas. She passed away on June 3, 1986 in Wichita, Kansas. In 1990 he married Eldora Mangrum McCart in Morris, Oklahoma. She passed away on December 1, 2010.
Survivors Include her Two Sons - Thurman & Delinda Dunagan of Scott City, Kansas, Preston Dunagan of Scott City, Kansas, One Brother - George Dunagan of Arcola, Illinois, Three Sisters - Eva Anderson of Arcola, Illinois, Naomi Rothrock of Arcola, Illinois, Irene Anson of Seminole, Oklahoma, Two Grandsons - Jason & Linda Dunagan of Scott City, Kansas, Travis & Wendy Dunagan of Garden City, Kansas, One Granddaughter - Shannon & Harold Berry of Scott City, Kansas, One Step Son - Steve McCart of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Two Step Daughters - Ramona Grimmett of Rogers, Arkansas, Verlie Grimmett of Tecumseh, Oklahoma, Eight Great Grandchildren and Six Great Great Grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his Parents, Two Wives, One Son â Edmund Leroy, Two Sisters â Maxine Culver & Marietta Brown, Twin Great Granddaughters â Laura Faith Dunagan & Olivia Hope Dunagan, and Three Step Sons â Robert McCart, Don McCart, and Wendel McCart.
Funeral Services First Baptist Church in Scott City, Kansas at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, March 5, 2011 with the Rev. Kyle Evans presiding.
Interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery Scott City, Kansas.
Memorials may be given to the Park Lane Nursing Home % of Price & Son Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas.
Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday and 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Saturday At Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas.
