Stephen J. Kinkelaar, age 57, died Tuesday, September 12, 2006 at the St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas. He was born on October 17, 1948 in Dodge City, Kansas the son of Bernard H. and Rosanna M. Millershaski Kinkelaar. He graduated from Dodge City High School in 1966 and then attended and graduated from St. Mary Of The Plains College in Dodge City, Kansas with his Bachelors Degree in Social Work. A resident of Garden City since 1987 moving from Dodge City he was a Social and Eligibility Worker for the State of Kansas Social and Rehabilitation Offices in Garden City.
On July 25, 1992 he married Nancy Wilson Jones at Garden City, Kansas. She survives.
Other Survivors Include a son, Kevin Kinkelaar of Palmdale, California, two step-sons, Verne Jones of Bentonville, Arkansas and Raymond Jones Garden City, one step-daughter, Christine Parsons of Otis, Colorado, his parents, Bernard & Rosanna Kinkelaar of Dodge City, three brothers, Rodney Kinkelaar of Wichita, Kansas, Mark Kinkelaar of Lenexa, Kansas, and Bennett Kinkelaar of Wichita, Kansas. two sisters, Judy Schlotfeldt of Dodge City, Kansas and Donna Dauer of Lindsborg, Kansas, one granddaughter, nine step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am on Friday, September 15, 2006 at the First Baptist Church in Garden City with Pastor Carley Hazelton presiding.
Friends may call from Noon until 8:00 pm on Thursday at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City.
Interment will be held in the Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas.
The family requests memorials be given to the Stephen J. Kinkelaar Memorial Fund in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City.
