Shirley Rhoads

Garden City Shirley C. Rhoads, age 88, died Monday, October 5, 2009 at the Garden Valley Retirement Village in Garden City, Kansas. She was born on October 25, 1920 in Brookfield, Missouri, the daughter of William and Ada Weaver Cook. A resident of Garden City since 1998 moving from Amarillo, Texas she had been an executive secretary for a network television company and for the Pioneer Natural Gas Co. She was a member of the Beracah Bible Church of Amarillo, Texas. On May 21, 1951 she married John T. Rhoads in San Antonio, Texas. He survives. Other Survivors include: One Son, Gary Rhoads of Ulysses, Kansas; Two Grandchildren and Two Great Grandchildren She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Bill Cook. Private family Graveside Services were held on Wednesday, October 6, 2009 in the Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas with the Rev. Robert Nuckolls presiding. Price & Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
