Shirley Jeanette Brenning, age 67, died Saturday, July 14, 2012 at the Via Christi St. Francis Campus in Wichita, Kansas. She was born on February 2, 1945 in Garden City, Kansas, the daughter of Ira and Cecil Clark Bates. A former Garden City resident, she moved to Overbrook, Kansas in 2004. Shirley was a bookkeeper for Holthaus Auto-Haus and Pride Services Electric.
She was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church in Vassar, Kansas.
On August 2, 1964, she married Ray E. Brenning in Garden City, Kansas. He survives.

Two Brothers, George Bates of Springfield, Missouri, and
Ray Bates of Knoxville, Tennessee;
Four Sisters, Elinor Paasch of Springdale, Arkansas,
Myrna Mott of Garden City, Kansas,
Nina Birkle of Garden City, Kansas, and
Louise Hokanson of Wichita, Kansas;
Seven Grandchildren and 2 Great-Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00am on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at the Fellowship Baptist Church in Garden City, Kansas.
Burial will be held in the Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas.
Friends may call from 3:00-8:00pm on Monday at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas.
