Shielda Joy Jeffery, 88, passed away at the Park Lane Nursing Home in Scott City on June 11, 2022, after a brief illness. She was born in Abilene, Kansas on October 29, 1933, and remained a Kansas native, calling Scott City home for the last 64 years.
She was a caring, considerate, and generous family member and friend. Shielda invested a lot of time into letter writing, card mailing, memory keeping, and phone conversations. She had a giving heart, always looking for ways to help those around her.
In 1999, Shielda retired from Scott Pro after 25 years of service. She lived out her retirement in the community she loved and raised her three boys in.
Shielda is survived by three sons, Stan Lacey and Lisa of Rio Vista, CA, Craig Lacey and Connie of Sterling, KS, Malcolm Lacey and Rosa of Redondo Beach, CA; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one sister, Jean Elmquist and Jerry of Sacramento, CA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Evadena Madden, and her brother, Glenn Madden Jr.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 16, 2022, at the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas with Steve Payne presiding.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be written to Park Lane Nursing Home in Scott City, Kansas.
