Sheris Sorenson

Garden City, Kansas Sheris A. "Sherry" Sorenson, age 83, died Tuesday, November 17, 2009, at the St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas. She was born May 24, 1926 in Grinell, Kansas the daughter of Albert B. and Evelyn M. Teeter Chapman. A resident of Garden City since 1977 moving from Palmdale, California, she had been a telephone operator. She was a homemaker and had been a church organist since the age of fifteen. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Garden City and was a former member of the Eastern Star and the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. On November 20, 1946 she married Richard K. Sorenson in Garden City, Kansas. He died September 22, 2005 in Garden City, Kansas. Survivors Include: One Daughter, Kris Shanabarger of Garden City, Kansas and One Grandson, Erik Shanabarger of Garden City, Kansas. Graveside Services will be held at 11:00am on Friday, November 20, 2009 in the Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas with Pastor Mary Fabin presiding. Friends may call from 1:00-6:00pm Thursday at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas. The family requests memorials be given to the Sherry Sorenson Memorial Fund in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City, Kansas.
