Rose Ramirez

Garden City, Kansas Rose M. Ramirez, age 85, died Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011 at the Garden Valley Retirement Village in Garden City, Kansas. She was born on May 11, 1926 in Garden City, Kansas the daughter of Antonio and Josefa Morales. Rose had worked in the kitchen at St. Catherine Hospital for many years and had been a lifetime Garden City resident. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church of Garden City, Kansas. She married Nat Velasquez in Garden City, Kansas. He died in 1957. Then in 1965 she married Santiago Ramirez. He died in 1986. She was also preceded in death by Eight Sisters and Two Brothers. Survivors Include: Two Sons, Nat Velasquez Jr. of Grantville, Kansas and James A. Ramirez of the home; Two Daughters, Joan McLain of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Mary Wilson of South Sioux City, Nebraska; Six Grandchildren and Four Great-Grandchildren. Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2011 at the Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas. Friends may call from 1:00pm-8:00pm on Monday @ the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas. The family requests memorials be given to the Rose Ramirez Memorial Fund in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City, Kansas.
