Ronald Lee Kysar, age 83, passed away on Monday, June 29, 2015 at Greeley County Health Center in Tribune, Kansas. Ron was born December 30, 1931 in Hays, Kansas, the son of Ernest Everett & Lillian Viola (Hartzler) Kysar. A lifetime resident of Greeley County, Kansas, he was a farmer, welder, cotton picker and could do just about anything mechanical asked of him.
Ron served his country in the United States Coast Guard from 1951 through 1954 aboard the USCGC Humboldt (WAVP-372) and in the United States Coast Guard Reserves from 1954 through 1959. On July 24, 1955 he married Laura Lou McDermott in Leoti, Kansas. He later married Regina Holden Amato on December 29, 1990 in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Ron was a member of the V.F.W. Post # 7521 in Tribune, Kansas
Ron’s surviving family includes-

Ronda & Dwight Gooch- Tribune, Kansas
Joni Kysar- Tribune, Kansas
One brother-
Richard & Bernice Kysar- Tribune, Kansas
Eight grandchildren and Ten great grandchildren
His parents, a daughter, Sheri Kysar, a brother, Robert E. Kysar and a sister, Norma Kysar Woods McCauley precede him in death.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm (MST) Friday, July 17, 2015 at the United Methodist Church in Tribune, Kansas with the Reverend Wayne Stephens officiating. Inurnment will be in Greeley County Cemetery with full military honors provided by the United States Coast Guard Funeral Detail, Topeka, Kansas and the VFW Post #7521 from Tribune, Kansas.
