Roland Kottas

Garden City, Kansas Roland Gene Kottas, age 61, died Friday, December 14, 2007, at the St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, KS. He was born August 24, 1946 in Ellsworth, KS the son of Edward and Helen Virginia Lyne Kottas. A resident of Garden City since 1995 moving from Perryton, TX, he had been a mechanic with Phillips Petroleum for several years most recently working at the Tyson Packing Plant in Holcomb, KS. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and of A.A. both of Garden City and he was a US Navy Veteran. Survivors include: One Son, Joe Kottas of Garden City, Kansas; One Daughter, Rae Lynn Kottas of Dallas, Texas; Three Brothers, Roger Kottas of Hutchinson, Kansas, Mickey Kottas of Lyons, Kansas and Pat Kottas of Great Bend, Kansas; Twin Sisters, Karol Clayton of Altus, Oklahoma and Kathy Withrow of Goose Creek, South Carolina; Three Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a younger brother. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00am on Monday, December 17, 2007 at the st. Mary Catholic Church in Garden City with Father Trong Tran presiding. Inurnment will be held at a later date There will be no calling times.
