Richard Dean Huck, age 64, passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 in Scott City, Kansas. He was born on August 23, 1949 in Scott City, Kansas, the son of Delmar & Wanda Oller Huck. A lifetime resident of Scott City, Kansas, he was co-owner and operator of Plain Jan's in Scott City, Kansas.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and The Table of Knowledge both of Scott City, Kansas. He was also a member of Beta Rho Mu of Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas.
He graduated from Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas where he was a varsity football letterman. Rick then did his post graduate work at Wichita Technology Institute in Wichita, Kansas.
He was involved in the cattle business with his father, Delmar. Then he was Manager for the Scott City Water Company for four years.
On July 29, 1972 he married Jan Alderman in Lyons, Kansas. She survives.
Survivors include his Wife - Jan Huck of Scott City, Kansas, Three Daughters - Erin & David Killough of Kansas City, Kansas, Ali & Ron Cline Jr. of Scott City, Kansas, Aubrey & Luke Steinbrink of Grapevine, Texas, Two Brothers - Randy & Karma Huck of Scott City, Kansas, David Huck of Scott City, Kansas, Cousins - Larry & Gwen Huck of Scott City, Kansas, Six Grandchildren and Eight Nieces & Nephews.
He was preceded in death by his Parents and One Sister - Gwen Modlin.
Memorial Services will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Scott City, Kansas at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 7, 2014 with the Rev. Dennis Carter presiding.
Memorials may be given to the Scott City Booster Club or Western Kansas Child Advocacy Center % Price & Sons Funeral Home.
