Reinholdt Deines, age 87, passed away on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at his home in Garden City, Kansas. He was born on September 4, 1922 on the family farm in Ness County, the son of Henry and Anna Schneider Deines. A resident of Garden City, Kansas since the 1930's moving from Ness County, Kansas. He graduated from Garden City High School in 1940, Garden City Community College in 1942, and attended the University of Kansas. He was the owner and operator of Deines Aero Spray of Garden City, Kansas from 1949-1995.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, VFW, American Legion & Elks Lodge, all of Garden City, KS. He was also a member of the Kansas Agriculture Aviation Association, National Agriculture Aviation Association and the American Quarter Horse Association.
He was a U.S. Marine Corp. veteran serving during World War II.
On May 16, 1948 he married Bonnie Brakey in Garden City, Kansas. She passed away on June 27, 2008 in Victoria, Kansas.
Survivors Include: One Son, Lynn Deines of Garden City, Kansas; Two Daughters, Gretta Hoffman of Hays, Kansas and Janet Solt of Manhattan, Kansas; One Sister, Virginia Cook of Mesa, Arizona; Eight Grandchildren, Four Great Grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by Three Brothers, Leo, Elmer & Paul Deines; and Two Sisters, Esther Desmarteau and Elsie Michael.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 16, 2010 at the First United Methodist Church in Garden City, Kansas with the Rev. Brenda Fluellen presiding.
Friends may call from 5pm-8pm on Thursday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City. The family will be in attendance to receive friends.
Interment will be in the Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas, with Military Graveside Honors.
