Raymond Hands

Raymond Walter Hands, age 89, died Friday, September 21, 2012 at the St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas. He was born October 3, 1922 in Finney County, Kansas the son of Joseph Gale and Maude Bell Zugmier Hands. Raymond was a farmer and had been a lifetime resident of Finney County, Kansas. He was a member of the First Christian Church and the Finney County Senior Center both of Garden City, Kansas. On April 13, 1946 he married Mildred Jesse Algrim in Garden City, Kansas. She died August 16, 2001 in Garden City, Kansas. Survivors include: One Son, Rick Hands of Garden City, Kansas; Three Daughters, Karen L. (& Eugene) Reece of Manzanola, Colorado, Celia (& Bernard) Stansbury of Chesapeake, Virginia and Rhona Hands of Portsmouth, Virginia; One Brother, Floyd Hands of Garden City, Kansas; One Sister, Marcelle Joyce of Garden City, Kansas Eight Grandchildren and numerous Great-Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and two brothers, Virgil & Richard Hands. Funeral Services will be held at 4:00pm on Monday, September 24, 2012 in the Garden Valley Retirement Village Chapel in Garden City, Kansas. Friends may call from 3:00-8:00pm on Sunday and from 10:00am-2:00pm Monday at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas. Interment services will be held at 11:30am, on Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at the Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas.
