Ray H. Wetzel, age 84, passed away on Friday, August 12, 2011 at Greeley County Health Center in Tribune, Kansas. Ray was born October 22, 1926 in Greeley County, Kansas, the son of Elmer George & Jennie Ann Johnson Wetzel. A lifetime resident of Greeley County, he was a retired Road Supervisor for the Greeley County Road Department.
Ray was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Tribune, Kansas. He could repair anything and was an avid and talented woodworker.
On September 28, 1957 he married Arlene E. Younger at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Tribune, Kansas. Ray's surviving family includes His wife Arlene Wetzel- Tribune, Kansas Two sons and their wives- Orville & Sharon Wetzel- Topeka, Kansas Scott & Jerie Wetzel- Round Rock, Texas A daughter and her husband- Anna & Mike Tuziw- Hot Springs, North Carolina Two grandchildren- Sara Wetzel- Lawrence, Kansas Adam Wetzel- Topeka, Kansas A sister- Barbara Heasty- Coffeyville, Kansas His parents, three brothers, Orville Wetzel, Elmer Wetzel and Herbert Wetzel and three sisters, Lela Martin, Darlyne Wetzel and Shirley Warden preceded him in death.
Vigil services will be held at 7:00 p.m. (M.D.T.) Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Tribune, Kansas.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. ( M.D.T.) Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Tribune, Kansas with Father Benjamin Martin officiating.
Burial will be in Greeley County Cemetery in Tribune, Kansas.
Friends may call from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday and from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Tribune, Kansas.
Memorials may be given to the Greeley County Health Center in care of the funeral home.
