Peggy Paul, age 71, was taken away from the pain and suffering on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at the Grisell Memorial Rhode Island in Ransom, Kansas. She was born on December 31, 1943 in Needles, California, the daughter of Samuel and Lucille Thompson Wahlers. A resident of Scott City, Kansas since 1959 moving from Goodland.
Peggy traveled the United States with her Parents and the Texico DuddleBugger crews as a child. While in Scott City, she attended and graduated from Scott Community High School and met Frank Paul. They were wed on January 6, 1962 in Scott City, Kansas.
To this union came three children. Denice & Brian Allender of Brazil, Indiana, Frank & Sonja Paul of Marienthal, Kansas, and Chris Paul of Oberlin, Kansas. Peggy has eight grandchildren: Mitzi, Dalton, Kolton, Jonathan, Dallas, Crista, Zackary, Kimberly and one Great Granddaughter, Zoey.
While raising her own children, she opened “Pegs Kids” Day Care Center in Scott City for over 30 years. She helped raise many children, many to this day still call her “Mom”.
The last few years she worked many small different jobs around town mainly as a merchandiser for Halmark Cards, Trac-Phone and TOPS Trading cards.
For over 50 years Peggy was a very active member of the the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts until her health forced her step down. Many remember her from the Scott County Free Fair Boy Scout concession booth.
As per Peggy’s request, there will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. She also requested that all who attend the graveside service to be casually dressed. Following the service, a reception will be held at the Youth Inc. Building at 608 Myrtle in Scott City.
She was preceded in death by her Parents and One Sister - Sue Parker.
Memorial Graveside Services will be held at 10:30 a.m Saturday, May 2, 2015 at the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas
Memorials in Lieu of Flower may be given to the Youth Inc. Building Fund in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas
