Pearl E. Strickert, 91, died Jan. 27, 2006, at her home, Scott City. She was born Nov. 19, 1914, in Scott County the daughter of Irvin and Lottie (Ryan) See. She was a lifetime resident of Scott County and a homemaker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Scott City, and Elks Lodge, Garden City. On Dec. 23, 1933, she married Karl Strickert in Scott City. He died Nov. 3, 1969, in Scott City. Survivors include: one son, Max, Fairfield, Calif.; two daughters, Karyl Hollister, Pueblo, Colo., and Laurel Binns, Scott City; one brother, Walter See, Scott City; three sisters, Hazel Eikerman, Flagler, Colo., Lorena Turley, and Dorothy Patton, both of Scott City; ten grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Terry, 1940 and Roger, 1987; three brothers and two sisters. Funeral services were held Jan. 31, at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Lynn Smith officiating. Burial was in the Scott County Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to the Scott County Library or the Scott County Museum in care of Price and Sons Funeral Home, 401 S. Washington, Scott City.
