Patrick Haury Smith, age 62, died Saturday, June 12, 2010 at his home in Garden City, Kansas. He was born on January 17, 1948 in Garden City, KS, the son of William Lee & Lorena Mae Yount Smith. A lifetime resident of Garden City, he had been an Assistant Manager of the Service Department at Burtis Motors and later a salesman for Cleary Buildings. He was a member of the Church Of The Brethren of Garden City and enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening & playing with his grandchildren & his dogs. On October 4, 1990, he married Sherri Allen at Garden City, Kansas. She survives. Other Survivors Include: Three Sons, Todd Smith of Castle Rock, Colorado, Robert Smith of Garden City, Kansas, and Jason Smith of Winsor, Colorado; Two Daughters, Nicole Stephen of Holcomb, Kansas and Danielle Wheeler of Garden City, Kansas; One Brother, Dennis Smith of Prince George, B.C; Three Sisters, Doris Dyer of Garden City, Kansas, Linda Spires of Hoisington, Kansas, and Wanda Smith of Garden City; Fifteen Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Mike & Nicholas Smith and a daughter, Denise Bedker. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at the Church Of The Brethren in Garden City with Pastor John Elder presiding. Friends may call from 10:00 am until 8:00 pm on Tuesday at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City. Interment will be held in the Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas. The family requests memorials be given to the church or to the Friends of the Lee Richardson Zoo, both in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City.
