Patricia T. "Pat" Miller, age 78, passed away on Saturday, August 7, 2010 at the Wichita County Health Center in Leoti, Kansas. Pat was born August 31, 1931 at Rock Springs, Wyoming, the daughter of Joseph Houston & Mary Perner Scott. She was a homemaker and farm wife and had been a Wichita County resident since 1951 moving from Scott City, Kansas. Pat had been known as "The Cake Lady" for the past 47 years and was locally renown for her "Pat Miller Cake Recipes". Pat was a former member of the Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church in rural Wichita County until it joined congregations and she became a member of the United Methodist Church in Leoti, Kansas. She was a former Sunnyside EHU member, a former Wichita County 4-H leader, and was an avid Wichita County High School sports fan. On November 25, 1951, she married Francis W. "Sonny" Miller in Scott City, Kansas. Pats surviving family includes- Her Husband Francis W. "Sonny" Miller- Leoti, Kansas Three Sons and their wives- Richard & Becky Miller- Leoti, Kansas Scott & Dione Miller- Overland Park, Kansas Mark & Amber Miller- Leoti, Kansas One daughter and her husband- Dedra & Scott McKinney- Leoti, Kansas Her Mother- Mary Scott- Scott City, Kansas Three sisters- Marvel Hopkins- Scott City, Kansas Madeline Murphy- Scott City, Kansas Charlotte Utley- Duncan, Oklahoma Seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 am Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at the United Methodist Church in Leoti, Kansas with the Reverend Mike Howard officiating. Burial will be in Leoti Cemetery in Leoti, Kansas Friends may call from noon to 7:00 p.m. Monday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Leoti, Kansas. Memorials may be given to the Wichita County Health Center or the United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.
